Sister Corita Kent

Postivity radiates from Siser Corita Kent’s vibrant screen prints. Known as the ‘Pop Art Nun’, Sister Corita broke convention (going from convent schoolteacher to creative icon) and through her bold use of typography and colour was able to bring to life commanding statements, such as ‘Get with the action’ and ‘Love is here to stay and that’s enough’. Sister Corita only practiced as an artist from 1960–1968, but the powerful message of equality, empowerment and peace in her artwork continues to resonate with audiences today.
